MONTEREY BAY WATERFRONT PARK

The location for our 2008 Family Reunion is a 4.8-acre turf and landscaped area adjacent to the beach. It has 5 sand volleyball courts, (which one has been reserved for us), picnic and BBQ facilities. It is across the street from El Estero Park where you can paddleboat on the lake for $15/30 mins or $20 for a full hour, have the kids play at the huge Dennis the Menace Playground, is walking distance to the Monterey Wharf and a few steps from the sandy beach and crashing waves.

From San Francisco/San Jose

Take 101 South towards Los Angeles. Take the CA-156 West ramp to the Monterey Peninsula. Merge onto CA-156. Merge onto CA-1 South. Take the Monterey exit (it’s the exit for Fisherman’s Wharf and the Naval Postgraduate School) and get into the right lane. Turn right onto Camino Aguajito. Make a left on Del Monte Avenue. El Estero Park with the lake will be on your left, our volleyball court and picnic area under a large tree will be on your right. Park on the street or in the parking lot near the volleyball court.

From Sacramento

Take I-80 West. Take the I-680 exit towards Benicia/San Jose. In San Jose, take 101 South towards Los Angeles. Take the CA-156 West ramp to the Monterey Peninsula. Merge onto CA-156. Take I-5 North towards the Bay Area. Take exit 403B to merge onto CA-152 West towards San Jose/Hollister/Gilroy. Turn left at CA-156. Take ramp onto CA-156 West/US-101 South. Take the CA-156 ramp to Monterey Peninsula. Merge on CA-156. Merge onto CA-1 South.
